Who can return to work from Monday 13 April?

From Monday 13 April, after Easter, those whose work was not indicated as being necessary will have to go back to work. They return to their positions with a number of preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, that is, they return to activities in which they can not do work from home.

Insurers will send companies recommended guidelines for dealing effectively with coronavirus after returning to work, such as gradual entry into the workplace, shorter shifts, closing shared rooms, maintaining a safe distance between employees, or checking temperature and facilitating hand washing.

From Monday, the opening of every smaller retail store is suspended except for food, beverages, basic products and goods, pharmaceutical plants, health centers, veterinary centers or clinics, opticians and orthopedic products, hygiene products, newspapers and stationery. , car fuel, tobacco products, technological and telecommunications equipment, pet food, e-commerce, telephone trade.

The opening of bars and restaurants - which can only provide home delivery - of discos, cultural and recreational facilities, sports facilities, amusement parks and auditoriums is still not allowed. There is still a ban on festivals, parades, folk festivals and folklore shows in open spaces and public roads, as well as dry cleaning, laundry and professional hairdressing at home.

Sectors that may return from today will include construction and industry (commercial or production lines not related to basic services).

Public transport is also available and protected, all services related to this sector still operate according to the basic list of services, press and media can also continue to operate. Companies that do not appear among the activities prohibited by Royal Decree 463/2020 of March 14 and do not have the opportunity for their employees to work remotely may also return. Of course, everyone must comply with security measures to prevent the virus from spreading.
