The costs of maintaining a property in Spain are relatively low, and most of them is billed yearly.
Underneath we present a list of estimated annual costs which must be paid by every property owner in Spain.
1. SUMA- IBI (property ownership tax) paid every year in October, from 150 to 350 euros
2. gastos comunales (community fees)- approximately from 100 to 500 euros per year. If you buy a high standard property, usually situated on golf courses or a new built property you must be prepared for community charges up to 1000 euros
3. electricity bills, paid every month, around 45 euros per month (2 people)
4. water bills- paid every three months (fees for rubbish removal, streets cleaning and lightning are included)- approximately 50 euros per month (2 people)
