Los Dolses

Los Dolses - it is a community belonging to Villamartin, only a few minutes drive from the nearest beaches of the Orihuela Costa.

Why is Los Dolses so popular?

Los Dolses is very popular with tourists, mainly British and German ones, for two reasons. The first reason are the golf courses near the community and the second reason is the high standard of the beaches, the sunny days and the always favourable weather.

The area is popular not only with the residents who seek summer houses but also with pensioners and families who decided to move to Spain. It is a paradise for golf lovers. There are three golf courses: Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor.

Club de Golf Villamartin is a house to a cosmopolitan community. Some of the people live here all year round and others come for holidays in the golf season. It is located only five minutes drive from the A7 motorway, by which you can get to El Atet airport in Alicante (about 50-minute drive) or to San Javier airport in Murcia which is about 20 minutes drive away. Those two nearest airports offer cheap flights to and from Poland, Great Britain, Ireland and the rest of Europe on a daily basis.

Nearby there are numerous banks, shops, a large Spanish supermarket, a hairdresser's, bars, restaurants and a large shopping and gardening centre.

The local infant and junior school has a mixture of students of all nationalities but it offers classes mainly in Spanish.

There are two shopping centres in Los Dolses- Rioja and Los Dolses which are about 10 minutes walk from Villamartin Plaza. In La Rioja there is a restaurant which offers excellent food and service. Another good restaurant, worth recommending, is an Italian restaurant called "Solo Mio".

In Los Dolses shopping centre there are a number of bars, very popular during the day but not so busy in the evenings. The exception is Nicky bar, where food is served even at night. For sport fans, Madigans has got a few screens and if you want a nice atmosphere, visit PB which serves decent food, especially on Sundays. There are also Indian, Greek, Chinese and German restaurants. To eat the best pizza, it is worth booking a table at EJ's.
