Pilar de la Horadada is a small town in the province of Alicante. It has 23.403 inhabitants (data from 2012).
It is very easy to get here from Alicante airport on the N-332 road and the AP-7 motorway. You can also use the local road which links the town to San Pedro del Pinatar.
The nearest train station is the Balsicas Mar Menor station in Murcia,only 20 km away. Moreover, the CV-925 road links the town with Orihuela and the CV-920 links it with San Miguel de Salinas. There are also good links with San Javier airport in Murcia.

The municipality includes attractive and interesting seaside towns such as Torre de la Horadada surrounded by new residential areas in Pueblo Latino, Mil Palmeras, El Mojon, the mountains of Pinar de Campoverde and other agricultural areas.
In Pilar de la Horadada there is also an 18 hole golf course in Lo Romero, whose name comes from the name of an old farm on which it was founded.
Pilar de la Horadada has wide, sandy beaches and small coves rich in many sea remains.

Walking trails
Near the town there are two walking routes leading across the Rio Seco river bed- four kilometres following the course of the promenade and then another ten kilometres leading to the urbanised region of Mil Palmeras.
Route 1: Pinar de Campoverde- this is the area where the river bed is most eroded and you can find interesting rock formations and cavities in the sides.
Route 2: Rio Seco- the route follows the river bed to its mouth, along the route you can find information about the flora and fauna and you can take a break for a picnic.
Promenades such as Paseo del Sardinero, Paseo de las Higuericas, La Rambla offer relaxing walks and beautiful views.
