Elche
According to numerous studies, this is the first arch-shaped Dam built in Europe since the Romans. Its construction took place in 1632 to collect the waters of the Vinalopó River and is now a well-known and often visited place. Undoubtedly, the contemplation of the water falling through a huge waterfall is a spectacle worth seeing.
Tibi
This dam is over 400 years old, making it one of the oldest non-Romans dams in Europe. For many years it was the highest in the world, above 40 meters. The first stone was placed in 1580 under the reign of Philip II, and is located on the course of the Monnegre River. Its undoubted historical value has made it a recognized cultural object.
Elda
Comes from 1698, being at the same time one of the oldest dam in the country, but unfortunately is not as popular as it deserves. It is set in the Vinalopó riverbed and although today it is not working. It is worth visiting to admire its lush and beautiful vegetation.
Guadalest
