La Zenia is situated on southern Costa Blanca, south of the main city of Torrevieja. This part of the coast is known as the Orihueala Costa (Alicante). La Zenia is a small tourist resort located near the beach. It has many restaurants, shops, bars and it can cater well for tourists' needs because a large number of people live here all year round. There are even Irish bars like "Paddy". Most of the bars are easy to find and you can order English breakfast in some of them. La Zenia is an English resort with a touch of Spanish culture. If you count on experiencing a more Spanish atmosphere, you can choose one of the other resorts. Of course La Zenia has got the perfect location for those who want to spend holidays on a beach.
La Zenia is located a 40-minute drive south from Alicante airport. Another airport is San Javier Murcia, which is situated about 15-20- minute drive to the south. The road reaching La Zenia is AP-7 motorway, which links Alicante airport to Murcia San Javier airport. South of La Zenia is Cabo Roig, further south is Campoamor, Pilar de la Horadada, San Pedro del Pinatar and La Manga. To the north, there are Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Los Altos and Torrevieja.
La Zenia is popular because of its golf courses where you can play if you want to have a rest from the beach. The nearest one is the Royal Campoamor golf club and also there are two clubs only 20 minutes drive away- Las Ramblas de Orihuela and Villamartin.
The main attraction in La Zenia are the beaches, located at coves, with marvelous sand and a shallow shore, which makes them perfect for families. Cala Bosque and Cala Cerrada are the most popular beaches in La Zenia. Needless to say, they are very popular and crowded in the summer time. Near the beaches there are restaurants and bars, all of them of very good quality. The nearby beaches of Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca are also worth visiting. An ideal place for a walk is the promenade leading south towards Cabo Roig. There are also good quality beaches and cliffs that add to the beauty of the scenery.
If you want to go shopping, we recommend the large Zenia Boulevard shopping centre which has 150 shops with clothes, toys, household articles or Al Campo supermarket and many other shops.
There are many restaurants and bars in the shopping centre. Every day different events are organised, such as singer performances, radio visits, contests etc.
