Los Montesinos is a traditional Spanish town situated only 15 minutes drive from the big city of Torrevieja located on the sunny Costa Blanca which has golf courses and blue flag beaches.
Los Montesinos is close to the motorway which ensures a quick and easy access to the neighbouring towns of Elche, Alicante and Murcia. Los Montesinos is near to the salt lakes of Torrevieja, known as Laguna Salada de Torrevieja and Laguna Salada de la Mata.
The nearby nature reserve and the lakes are an ideal place for birdwatching, walking, cycling or horse riding. In the town there is a beautiful square, a few bars and restaurants serving English or Spanish cuisine, where you can eat or have a drink. Torremendo is a mountain lake situated nearby, where you can go swimming or fishing. Los Montesinos has a bowling alley and a market open on every Friday, where you can buy everything- fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and leather goods.
There are a lot of villas and apartments that tourists can rent for a short stay or even for half a year or a year time. A lot of people stay close to Los Montesinos in villas or apartments located in the nearby urbanisations of Ciudad Jardin or Loma de las Lagunas.
The climate here is excellent. The temperatures are consistent and that is why people visit this place in all months of the year.
In the area there are a few golf courses and good beaches. The nearest beach is Guardamar beach, which is only 10 minutes drive away from Los Montesinos. It is also worth seeing the beaches in Torrevieja and La Zenia.
Fiestas are festivals and quite a lot of them take place here. The ones worth noting are Day of Segregation in July, Virgen de Pilar in October and Day of Saint Cecilia in November.
The best golf course in the area is "La Finca" considered to be one of the best golf courses in southern Costa Blanca. There are also golf courses in Campoamor and Villamartin.
